Teach Your Kids About Real Estate

Ugh, if we had $1 for every time we’ve heard, “I never learned anything about buying or selling a home when I was in school” we’d have enough for a down payment on a home

We’re serious. This is something that fires us up because our next generation of adults (or those who are adults already) have no idea about the basics of real estate.

We’re not talking about investing and flipping and building and developing...

We’re talking the basics of how to buy, save, why it’s important, build equity, and understand the overall benefits of being a homeowner.

If you’re a parent or you’ll be a parent someday we cannot, cannot, cannot stress enough how critical it is to start educating your children, teens and young adults in real estate.

It’s their literal future.

It’s how they will build the MOST wealth in their lifetime (sure, stocks and savings and retirement savings are great, but 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦 is the most beneficial).

Is There Such A Thing As A Perfect Seller?

I don't know if I am allowed to have a favourite, but these two go down on the top 10 list for sure. They put in 110% effort in prepping their home for sale and it was a designers dream. Every person that came through that home wanted to know who designed it and it brought me some much joy to let them know it was the sellers themselves.

Not only were they designer's dreams but they were kind, patient, and super tolerant of the plethora of showings that we had. Thank you so much for being such amazing people!

Why Is My Driveway Cracking And Dropping?

All too often in Winnipeg driveways are poured too early, and this leads to cracking and dropping. When a driveway starts to drop you will want to catch it early as there is only so much lifting that can be done (yesterday I saw one that had dropped 4 inches, and that is most likely too far gone)

Lifting a driveway is super easy, quick, and decently affordable, so watch your driveway and sidewalk and don't be scared when purchasing a home if it has dropped a little bit.

Can You Believe This?

A few years ago and today, a smaller family in front of a nearly completed home and today in front of a very sold home moving on to a bigger home to grow into.

This was the first of this set of homes to re-hit the market after being built, and pricing it was tricky. I had to use data and numbers from other neighbourhoods. I was so sure on my price, but also scared, holding my breath a bit when we hit the market and waiting to see what the market thought of it. And well..... they all loved it and we reached numbers none of us could have imagined.

I am so happy for you, and so thankful that I got to be a part of this journey with you!

We Switched From An Air Conditioner To A Heat Pump

We have started to hit the 20-year mark for the age of our home, and with that things are starting to go. The air conditioner has been hobbling along for the past few summers, and last summer they told us that it probably wouldn't make it through this one. We don't want it to break down on a +35 day (because you know that is what it will do) and so, out with the A/C and in with a Heat Pump!

It Feels So Long Ago!

It feels like so long ago that this was just a pile of dirt and we were signing the papers to start the build, but today we are so close to completion, and a move-in date has been set! This is the most fabulous home, backing onto green space with big beautiful trees and will give this family so much more space! I am so happy for you and can't wait till you get to move in!
